ITV THE SUMMIT 2026 · WINNER

FROM PORT TALBOT
TO THE TOP

A steelworker who lost everything, climbed a mountain on national TV, and proved it's never too late to start again.

THE CLIMB

THE REAL STORY

When the blast furnaces closed in 2024, Colleen lost her job, her routine, and for a while, her sense of who she was. A year later she was standing on a mountain on national television, outlasting a field half her age, and winning ITV's The Summit. She did the final stages with a torn meniscus and told no one. That's the kind of person she is.

"I'm nearly 50 and I'm still developing. You don't have to hit milestones at fixed times. If I can do it, anybody can. Don't write yourself off."
